Earth Shaker tutorial part 4: the final part

Ok guys here is the final part of the tutorial series for the earth shaker. Basically it focuses on the assembly of the back part of the body.
Step 1: cut out plastic card that is small enough to fit into the back of the main carriage you will also need to side pieces. Mine are about 10.5cm long in total.
Step 2: build the boxes.
Step 3: If desired add struts on inside
Step 4: Attach the deck plates, I used old fantasy movement trays cut up.
Step 5: attach the back dozer piece.

From here it gets tricky, originally I attached the wire mesh and all the extra bits between the body and the back part. However, I found it difficult to paint those parts well because of it. I would suggest painting those parts first (sides and top middle of platform) and then apply your mesh.
At that point the only things left to do are accessorizing the model. Bits here and there and details. That part is up to you, I originally used some spare marine pieces that I had running around and push molded a rhino hatch from BT for the front.

Now that this has wraped up  I am offering all 3 earth shakers to a good home, they will come with the mesh and such and some assembly will be required on your end for detailing and such. All I am asking for is the cost of shipping them to you. I want them to end up with someone who will use them. So drop me a line if your interested.

6MMRPC/ Painting table #23 2015

It was a very busy week for me hobby wise. On top of the already finished models that you have seen I also wrapped up all the assembly of the 2 earth shakers, finished painting the 6 BFG tau ships, assembled and puttied two buildings and finally finished the assembly and protective coat of my asteroids for space games. The earth shakers will be seen in a later post. Today, the rest of it will be seen. So first off the work in progress stuff.

I still need to sand them down before base coating but I have 2 started which is good enough for me. By the way I love the vallejo plastic putty.

The asteroids are below and then the 6 ships.

So that is 6 more models finished and  12 more points. That also means I get a joker for finishing off a project.

Not sure what I will do after the buildings but they are the next thing to get painted up.
The Epic marines are still available by the way

For sale EPIC Space marine army and titans!!

First off, serious offers only please. This is a large lot that will include not only all of the titans and models but also all my extra bases and models which is more than 30 bases worth along with another warlord titan I haven't painted up yet. So If you have a serious offer drop me a line, I will not break the lot up I want it gone in one shot so it is less painful.

Another thing I am planing on changing up is my 6mm Prussian project. I think I was going a bit to crazy with it. I need to sit down and figure out what I can do for the different systems I am looking at playing with it and adjust accordingly. So some of them may be up for grabs in the future.

Finally, the earth shakers, I will be selling them off after I finish the rest of the basic assembly on the ones I am building for the tutorial. Now with these I am not looking for anything crazy. To be honest even 20 + shipping is more than enough in my book. I am getting ride of them because I will honestly never use them. Playing here in means that my stuff will be on a smaller scale games wise. Hence my focus on skirmish games  and smaller scales, things I can easily do at home on a max 4x4 area.

So if you are interested in negotiating on the EPIC space marines or grabing the earth shakers drop me a line via email. By the way I will probably post the epic stuff in about 2 weeks on barter town if none of my readers are interested.

6MMRPC/ Painting table #22 2015

Earlier today I finished off the drones and have started up detailing the ships. Here is a quick picture.
So that is 8 more models and 16 more points. I hope to finish the ships this week but not 100% sure if I will this week.
Anyway more as I get it done.

6MMRPC: the next project for June

Todays post is about the project me and the kids picked out. The oldest wants me to finish off my tau BFG ships and the youngest kept screaming at the drones so I picked some out to paint.

So this is the next project for now, 14 more models and finishing off the BFG stuff will earn me a joker, which may be usefull. More as I get it done.

6MMRPC/ Painting Table #21 2015

Suffice to say I did it. I finished off the 25 fire warriors. Which not only completes most of the remaining models but gives me 50 more points.

I honestly haven't decide what I will be doing next. Possibly the remaining tau bfg ships since there are only like 6 left. Maybe something else. I will post what it is in the next few days.

6MMRPC/ painting table #20 2015

Well here are the completed pathfinders. Which is 23 more models done and 46 more points.

I figured it would be best to just finish off the fire warriors, so that is what is now on the table. 25 more of them to be exact.

After this all that will be left is some suits, drones and kroot once I figure out where I stashed them. The only ones that I think will give me trouble are the kroot. I am actually thinking of painting something besides 40k to spice it up some. Haven't decided what though. I also still need to sit down and finish off the two last earth shakers and the tutorial. Anyway more as I get it done guys.

6MMRPC/ Painting Table #19 2015

Another update. I finished off the 9 firewarriors/pathfinders  and touched up a prior done firewarrior. So that's another 9 models finished and 18 more points.

The next project is the rest of the pathfinders/ pathfinder or firewarriors. There are a total of 23 if I remember right. This will also finish off a large portion of what is left for models for the Tau army.

Anyone more as I get it done guys.

6MMRPC/ painting table #18 2015

Most of this week was rather busy, so I didn't make as much progress as I wanted. The group of 9 models I am working on are about halfway done for most of them and a few are about a 1/3 done. Luckily I had much better luck with the picture this time around.

I should be able to finish them up without much of a problem this coming up week. Oh and omg found a kick ass hobby shop finally. Strangely enough in a place I frequented for years. The carry soo many new paints and washes I have wanted to try and tons of tools I have been wanting to pick up. Strangely they had almost no brushes but a decent number of airbrushes. I will do a store review and give directions in a future post.
More as I get it done.

Earth shaker tutorial Part 3

This is part 3. Part 2 is here and Part 1 is here.

This part of the tutorial deals with the next 2 steps. First I added a bunch of the extra pieces from the aforementioned tank to the barrels. The only things left are to add to them now is a few little 40k pieces and an ornament/sight on the front. One other thing is to do green stuff around some of the bits to close the gaps and  to give it a sort of welded/repaired appearance.

Next is a 2 step process on the main body. First I inserted a piece of tupe between the two sides that acts as a mounting point for the cannon. I also added some plasticard  on the inside and then verticle pillars, these add some more depth and a place for the first part of the gunshield to rest.
Then I built the first part of the shield which is just a piece of plasticard cut to size and then framed some with the plasticard to give it more depth. On top of the 2 vertical pieces are flat pieces of plasticard to flatten out the top of the shield. There is only 2 steps left for the main body which aren't pictured, another more ornamental shield part is mounted on the front that I push molded from the front door of a landraider and then adding other little 40k bits to it to add more detail. The slots I cut for the gun barrels to fit through are not perfect on purpose. I want it to be one of the things that stands out between all the models and part of it will also be covered by the 2nd shield.
The next tutorial will focus on the assembly of the back part of the carriage and the rear of the tank. Hopefully that will be done in the next two weeks. Once main difference between these and the original is that I will not mount the gun until after I paint it all this time. Just to make it easier to paint.

Anyway more as I get it done. Hope this helps some of you out.
