Just on overall FYI. I have been working on consolidating all of my reviews and tutorials and such in one place. I also plan on updating all the photos and such on the different tabs. Work is still proceeding on the rvanars upper body and will hopefully be finished or almost finished by this weekends post. Feel free to drop comments about the changes and any questions you may have..
Till then.

Painting Table #12 2015
A big chunk of progress this week. Not only did I finish off the legs of the Rvanar but I also painted up a large number of drones this week. Specifically 23 drones. There are a mixture of shield, gun, missile, shield/missile and drones for shadow sun and the pathfinders.
Now I plan on trying to finish off the upper body of the Rvanar so that the model will be finished.
So that's 23 models painted and a total of 46 points.
More as I get it done.

Review of Phoenix Forge's counts as tau
I picked up a bunch of models from phoenix forge on shapeways. You can find the blog here and the store on shapeways here.
I printed all of the models in White strong and flexible plastic. The overall detail is good and much cheaper then the ultra frosted detail. I got a single counts as custodian that comes in 4 pieces, 3 counts as wardens, 3 counts as castellan's and 2 counts as defenders. The only down side is that they don't come with stands. But I have a ton of GW ones running around from my tau so not a real problem. Check out the pics below and you will see these getting painted in the future.
As a side note he also has started making counts as eldar ships.

Painting Table #11 2015
Both me and the oldest got down to some good painting time this week. Before I get to that I will be giving my readers first crack at my DZC stuff. I have decided to cut back on systems and this is one I am willing to sacrifice compared to some of the others.
I did more work on the arms and called it quits and then started on the legs. I hope to finish the legs off this coming week.
I also spent a big chunk of change earlier this week. I bought all the bits I need to finish off my dreadnoughts, all the models I need to scratch build a 1000 point Dark Eldar fleet, a 1000 point tau fleet, 3 more xv9's with phased ion guns and another broadside. I think that's everything I got but honestly would have to double check. Means I spent $187 more, and I have to tally up the actual models bought which I know is at least 13. Anyway more as I get it and look forward to some reviews. I also plan on sitting down this coming up week and trying to get enough scratch building done to finish off the next tutorial post for the earthshaker.
Anyway

The oldest finished of the marauder vehicle thing from Mantic and started working on one of the tyranids he got for his birthday.

Painting Table #10 2015
So here is what I have been able to get done.
First off what I did that the photos turned out horrible on. Buildings and such. I have been gluing and finishing up assemble on all the mantic terrain I have. I am about half way done.
Next up is the assembly of old tyranid models that I bought my oldest for his birthday. Here you can see one of the metal ones in the process of being built.
I also stripped some more marines. Few older marines with my much loved heavy weapons.
Finally we have the painting for the arms.

The dilemma I am having with these arms is that I cant get all the little parts painted. There are some parts that even at the 1 foot distance you cant see them except at a specific angle but if you get closer you can see areas where the green base coat didn't get to. I think I might finish the touch up on one of them that hasnt had it and then spend maybe 20 or 30 min tops trying to reach those places and then call it quits. I have spent crazy amounts of time on them already.
More as I get it done.

Whats been going on
As the tittle says this post is mainly to explain why I disappeared for almost a month. The short of it my whole family, coworkers and myself seems to have all gotten sick at least twice in the past month. On top of that work has been crazy with massive turn over and the beginning of a new school year. Hopefully things will settle down now and I can get back to normal.
I have done a little bit of stuff but I will cover most of that in my painting table post this weekend. The only things I will share today are what my oldest has done.
And this particular one is actually what my youngest (2 1/2 year old) did. He finally muscled his way in enough that it was easier just to give him a model and a brush and let him go at it. He is actually rather intense when he is trying to do it and demanding when he doesn't have enough paint.
I have also decided that I am going to get ride of my dropzone commander stuff. Mainly because I would rather expand in other game systems then painting up a new system. Mainly I am planing on expanding some of my epic or merc ranges. Though I still will be getting my ships. More this weekend.
