Painting Table #54 2015

Today will be the final painting table for the year. I finished off the pond and last hill/island.

In other news me and the oldest played another cruiser clash type thing in DW. He ended up winning after scoring two rounds of shooting were he dealt 3 critical hits to each ship. I forgot how useless my ships are in range band one and how nasty his are.

That is two more finished pieces. Side not I also updated the tab for models painted this year, check it out if your curious. More in the new year.

2015 in Review

Honestly I won't do a huge write up since I already covered most of this in my 6MMRPC post. Suffice to say I nailed it this year. In general I am planing on not doing points anymore because it just takes to much time and energy to keep track of. I plan on just counting models from now on.

 So let us look at what I did finish.

1. All the remaining tau stuff, was somewhere around 100 models I think.

2. All of my MERCs, DW, FSA, DZC stuff. This includes things I bought this year.

3. Infinity Operation Icestorm Nomad half.

4. Some marines, mainly 3 dreadnoughts.

5. Hills/island, Planets, scatter terrain and a bunch of buildings.

6. Tau and Dark eldar BFG stuff.

7.Tokens. I haven't really showed this on the site. But I have spent a large amount of time the last two months cutting out tokens for BFG, DW, FSA, Infinity, Roman Seas and who knows what else.

8. Assembled and primed a ton more terrain and models that have not been painted yet. More on this in the future.

Overall it has been a great year. I once again smashed all of my goals. Points wise I stopped counting months ago and was over 500, I painted way more then I bought and painted basically everything that was bought. I have tried a bunch of new things this year with very mixed results. I have done more reviews than initially planed, which is nice. And my spending didn't go to crazy at least on the surface.

Painting Table #53 2015

I know it has been a long time. Honestly I haven't posted mainly because I have been playing video games and looking for work. Instead of posting. So what have I done.
First let us talk about what I forgot to photograph. The nomad bases. I finished them. Pictures when I get around to it.
Now for the fun stuff. I have been making and painting islands/hills and a rock outcrop. Working on the bridge and my oldest son and I have been building a tank from leftovers and getting it ready to paint. The final thing that my oldest and I have been working on is a pond.

I still have 1 more island/hill to finish up that I have mostly done. The plan for the next week or so is to do that and the pond along with more details on the bridge. I will also be making more specific plans for next year. So that's 4 more pieces of terrain finished.

Painting Table #52 2015

This week saw me complete the last two models of the Nomads from the Infinity starter set.

And of course here are the paints I used. Mainly for my reference but some of you might be interested.

I also started on a project that I will be reviewing soon. For now here is a teaser.

6MMRPC Wrap Up

Figured I would do a short write up of what I managed to finish during this challenge.

Let's start with a review of what I wanted to finish.
1. Tau, a bunch of firewarriors/pathfinders, some kroot and about 9 suits are left at this point
2. BFG Tau, should have the first 3 finished by end of month.
3. The 2 other earth shakers
4.The 2 Mercs starter sets, something like 14 models
5.The Aqua ships I have running around, I think 10 or so models
6. The dystopian war ships I found the other day, frigates for both fleets maybe 5 or 6 each.


I also wanted to do some terrain and such. So here is what I did finish.
1. I finished everything for the Tau.
2. Bfg tau and Bfg Dark Eldar were completed.
3. They were built but never painted since my overall gaming focus has changed.
4. I completed both of the Mercs starter sets.
5. I completed all the aqua and dindrenzi ships.
6. I completed all the Dystopian war ships.
7. I completed 5 of the 7 Nomad models from the infinity starter.
8. I completed a bunch of buildings and other terrain.
9. Completed both DZC starter sets

I think this is about everything. I may have missed some stuff here or there. I however completed all of the projects I set out to do. Along with a bunch of other stuff. I am happy with my overall work during this project.

I have joined up with GMG painting support group for next year.

I actually finished these guys last week. Just hadn't had time to post. I also touched up colors on the other two.

So I finished off three more of the models. I have two more left to do. But doubt I will finish them before the end of the 6MMRPC.

6MMRPC/ Painting Table #50 2015

So far this week I painted 2 of the nomads and worked on basing. As many long term readers now I hate basing. So I picked something up to make my life easier and gave it a test run on my DZC infantry. There will be a full review at a later date after I mess around with it more.

So that is two more models finished. More as I get them done.

6MMRPC/Painting Table #49 2015

A lot of progress. Mainly I finished everything up. In fact the paint is still wet on them.
I used quiet a few paints on them in order to get the effect.

 Then I completed 37 models in total for this project. This also wraps up all my year and 6MMRPC projects.

Honestly, not sure what I will work on next. Mainly because I need to think of paint schemes.
Suggestions as always are welcomed. Ether project or technique. Oh and yellow really is a pain to paint.

6MMRPC/ Painting Table #48 2015

Just thought I would drop this quick update to show what the Shaltari look like with all the yellow now done.

That's a base, an ink and then 3 very light coats of another yellow looks like as of now. Hopefully I can get these guys finished off in the next week or so.

6MMRPC/ Painting Table #47 2015

This week I managed to finish the PHR and start on the Shaltari. The shaltari have been primed, based and inked. No pictures though because I had a bottle of paint explode well  squezing it and it made a heck of a mess.

Here is the PHR though.

Overall, I am happy with how they turned out though I changed my original plan because they were to orange. The new scheme I like more. Now if I can finish off the Shaltari by the end of the month not only will I complete all my goals for 6MMRPC but also all my year long goals, I think. Anyway, 52 more models done. More as I get it done.

6MMRPC/ Painting Table #46 2015

It was a massively productive week. I managed to prime not only all of the guys you saw assembled the past couple of weeks. But also all of the left over deadzone buildings I made and all my DZC stuff.

I then followed this up by priming, basing and other such things my DZC PHR.

 Finally, I also did up a planet/small sun.

6MMRPC/ Painting Table #43 2015

Success.

Another project finished off. That is 18 more models done. Which also finished off my aqua force. Honestly I don't need more but something may take my fancy in the future.

As for the next project, I am honestly not sure. Honestly, I think the only things I have ready to go at the moment are space marines. I still have terrain and DZC to prime and paint as well. I would love to get the DZC done but I am not sure when I will have a chance to do the prime and base coat them. I may just get more assembly done until I have the chance. I do have some infinity that need to be assembled along with a few other projects running around.

I will do an update soon on what the plan is.

Dreadtober/ 6MMRPC/ Painting Table #42 2015

This week was very productive. I finished off the 3 razorback turrets, 2 two SRS tokens for the dindrenzi and all 3 dreads.

So that wraps up my Dindrenzi force until the far future when I can get some more frigates and cruisers. That also wraps up my Razorbacks/Rhinos and the 3 dreads for my talon. The next thing up will probably be the aqua ships i have ready to paint. After that no idea. The main thing I have left for this year is more terrain and such. I am already thinking of what will happen next year.

Dreadtober/ 6MMRPC/ Painting Table #41 2015

I didn't have the chance to post this yesterday so here it is today.

First up I finished off the dread and 3 other ships for my dindrenzi. So that's 4 more models and my dindrenzi done for now. I would like a few more frigates and cruisers in the long run but have no plans for picking them up at the moment.

On top of that between last week and this I magnetized the dreads, assembled and based/primed them. Along with my two magnetized razorback turrets and 1 heavy bolter turret. So the plan is to crank away at them the rest of the month. The 3 dreads will form a troop choice as a siege dread talon for my Space Marine Siege army list. So I am looking forward to getting them done since all my undead stuff are far from being ready to do anything with. The only other thing to finish off are the two tokens that came with the dread which I should be able to polish off in no time.

6MMRPC/ Painting Table #40 2015

This week I not only finished a bunch of models but also had a chance to play a slightly modified version of DW with my oldest.

Overall he did well especially since he keeps picking the harder fleets and such in games to play as a beginner. Actually only luck kept him from destroying only 1 ship in round two. The second pick was the status of the game at the end of round two.

This week I also finished off the baharus and all the imperials for my warzone stuff.

So that's another 22 models and another 44 points completed. Along with jokers of course. But honestly I stopped keeping track of them since I never use them really. Never mind the only things I would like to get I will probably get as presents. My birthday and anniversary are both this month so hopefully that will work out.

One final announcement for today. I am planning on doing greggles dread challenge this month, mainly because I have 3 dreadnoughts I have to paint at some point anyway. I also really don't want to dig out any of my undead stuff that I have no use  for yet. I will put some pictures up next week of the before stuff for you guys.

Life and Plans for the next few months

As the tittle says this post is about life and plans. Well I need to change jobs/get a new job the end of October and start in November, I hope. That being what it is my painting time and hobby time will take a hit until life evens out again. I hope this will normalize around mid November and should start going a bit batty mid to end of October. I just don't know yet.

Now 6MMRPC wise October is undead themed and such. But any undead stuff I have is no where near seeing the light of day so I will not being doing it this time around. Mainly because I want to focus on the current projects. By the end of the year there are 4 projects I want to finish and 2 more I hope to finish.

Need to finish:
1. warzone bahraus
2. warzone Imperials
3. FSA Aqua
4. FSA Dindrenzi

Want to finish:
1.DZC Phr
2. DZC shaltari

So what else is on the horizon that I am either planing or need to do? I hear you not asking. Well that list is a bit longer.
1. Space Marine Seige Company (70 ish models with some conversions needed
2. Mordheim ( I have at least 2 warbands in the works already would like to do 4 or 5 in total
3. Frostgrave (2 or 3 warbands in the works, I think)
4. Deadzone (enforcers and plague to do, along with some zombie guys)
5.Roman Seas fleets (need to print and make)
6 DW ( I have more naval I want and maybe some ground stuff)
7. This is not a test (nothing made yet but I want to get into it)
8. Necromunda (nothing made up yet but I want to get into it)
9. More BFG (I want a few more tau ships and need to convert more DE, Nid and maybe imperials or chaos)

As you can see the list burns out towards the end because I dont remember what else is on my plate, I am sure there was more stuff. Anyway a little blurb on whats to come and what is still left to do.

6MMRPC/ Painting Table #39

Another week and more of a dent put in the mountain. First up this week is the DE BFG fleet I painted up. Honestly the picture doesn't show how shiny the silver is under the purple ink/paint. I then also did most of the warzone Baharaus guys. There are still a few stragglers which will be painted after I prime them.

Which should hopefully be this next week. The main problem will be that it is a major holiday here in South Korea, and since I married a South Korean I will be quiet busy during it. The plan after that is to do my warzone imperals, followed by my stragglers for my two FSA fleets. I know that many people are planing zombie themed or such projects next month but I have no projects for that in the works at the moment. I am going to focus on everything I have going and try to finish as much as possible by the end of the year. More on that next week. Other than scoring for this lot that is it. So that is 18 more models and 36 more points.

6MMRPC/ Painting Table #38 2015

The quick update for the week. I finished off the last two broadsides which completes the tau for now. Mainly I say for now because who knows what madness the new codex will bring and there is still a conversion I want to do at some point for fun.

 I also primed all the DE BFG and assembled and primed 30 some odd guys for my warzone stuff.

Finally me and my oldest had are first game of the slim down rules of FSA. I barely beat him, he has the devils luck when it comes to rolling 6s in every game.

This was played on one of my new mats from a kickstarter I backed that showed up last week. Anyway two more models and 8 more points.
