Painting Table #4 2017

This past week with the big holiday allowed me to complete a lot. Not only did I finish off the marines I did all the zombie from deadzone I found that I had running around. For a total of 46 models finished. The should be useful for TNT and deadzone.

I will have to wait and see what I do next.

Painting Table #3 2017

This past week I managed to finished off half of the 20 guys. Given another hour or so the other half will be finished and this will wrap up my marines until I get the remaining arms for my terminators. At some point I need to craft the siege objectives the list needs.

Painting Table #2 2017

This week was stripping and then rebuilding and priming the last chunk of marines I have. Along with partial base coating some of them.

After I finish them off the only things left to finish is the terminators I do not have arms for. I think I may need to add more basic guys to my list but would need to write a list first for them.

Painting Table #1 2017

This past week or so I managed to do a lot. First off I finished off the 15 terminators I could. I was unable to finish 4 of them due to a lack of arms.

Then I did 13 of the 18 marines with siege shields.

No idea what I will work on next. But it will probably be either more marines or frostgrave/mordheim stuff.

Painting Table #16 2016

Nothing finished off this week but here are a few work in progress shots.
This first one show a small selection of the terrain that is being base coated for frostgrave/mordheim. Me and my oldest worked on them this week.

When not doing that with my oldest I continued on the details for these 20 marines. Which being old metal sterguard models means there is a lot to paint. I hope to finish that off in the next few days and then move on to the touch up work.

I did however spend a good chunk of cash, $79 . I restocked on a bunch of paints and such and also splashed out for the next frostgrave book and some of the gnolls. Wasn't originally going to get the models but I love the look of the gnolls.

Painting Table # 15 2016

So straight to business. I painted the Ogres and the Forge Fathers. I still need bases for the Ogres but don't have any handy. That is however 17 more models finished.

 Then I went on a assembling spree with all the frost grave minis and Oathsworn ones. Which means my sort of staging box is all filled up again. I hope to get these primed soon so I can work on the during the summer. When it is to hot/humid to do any airbrushing.

Finaly, I started on a huge batch of marines. So far they are all based, primed and have some of the black details done. These are all technically old metal sternguard. I am actually using them as command units mainly for all my different squads, if I remember right.

Well that is what has been going on since the computer died. Wish it was more but work was also brutal the past month. More as I get it done.

Dreadtober/ 6MMRPC/ Painting Table #42 2015

This week was very productive. I finished off the 3 razorback turrets, 2 two SRS tokens for the dindrenzi and all 3 dreads.

So that wraps up my Dindrenzi force until the far future when I can get some more frigates and cruisers. That also wraps up my Razorbacks/Rhinos and the 3 dreads for my talon. The next thing up will probably be the aqua ships i have ready to paint. After that no idea. The main thing I have left for this year is more terrain and such. I am already thinking of what will happen next year.

Dreadtober/ 6MMRPC/ Painting Table #41 2015

I didn't have the chance to post this yesterday so here it is today.

First up I finished off the dread and 3 other ships for my dindrenzi. So that's 4 more models and my dindrenzi done for now. I would like a few more frigates and cruisers in the long run but have no plans for picking them up at the moment.

On top of that between last week and this I magnetized the dreads, assembled and based/primed them. Along with my two magnetized razorback turrets and 1 heavy bolter turret. So the plan is to crank away at them the rest of the month. The 3 dreads will form a troop choice as a siege dread talon for my Space Marine Siege army list. So I am looking forward to getting them done since all my undead stuff are far from being ready to do anything with. The only other thing to finish off are the two tokens that came with the dread which I should be able to polish off in no time.

6MMRPC/ Painting Table #40 2015

This week I not only finished a bunch of models but also had a chance to play a slightly modified version of DW with my oldest.

Overall he did well especially since he keeps picking the harder fleets and such in games to play as a beginner. Actually only luck kept him from destroying only 1 ship in round two. The second pick was the status of the game at the end of round two.

This week I also finished off the baharus and all the imperials for my warzone stuff.

So that's another 22 models and another 44 points completed. Along with jokers of course. But honestly I stopped keeping track of them since I never use them really. Never mind the only things I would like to get I will probably get as presents. My birthday and anniversary are both this month so hopefully that will work out.

One final announcement for today. I am planning on doing greggles dread challenge this month, mainly because I have 3 dreadnoughts I have to paint at some point anyway. I also really don't want to dig out any of my undead stuff that I have no use  for yet. I will put some pictures up next week of the before stuff for you guys.

6MMRPC/ Painting Table #38 2015

The quick update for the week. I finished off the last two broadsides which completes the tau for now. Mainly I say for now because who knows what madness the new codex will bring and there is still a conversion I want to do at some point for fun.

 I also primed all the DE BFG and assembled and primed 30 some odd guys for my warzone stuff.

Finally me and my oldest had are first game of the slim down rules of FSA. I barely beat him, he has the devils luck when it comes to rolling 6s in every game.

This was played on one of my new mats from a kickstarter I backed that showed up last week. Anyway two more models and 8 more points.

6MMRPC/ Painting Table #37 2015

A lot of progress this week. I managed to finish 7 of the 9 suits for the tau that were left. So that is a whopping 28points  and seven more models done. I completed all the xv9's. The commander one, 3 fusion cascades and 3 photton gun ones. Below is a mess of pics.

So there are only two more broadsides to finish off and the tau will be done. Which will be my focus this coming up week.

The current state of projects and goals.

At the moment I have two sets of goals. The ones for the year and the ones for the 6MMRPC. At the moment I have almost completed/meet both sets.

For the year I just need to finish tau and hopefully sell some stuff off to get back under budget.

For 6MMRPC I only need to finish 9 tau suits and the Aquan ships I have then I would have completed everything I wanted. I have also gained 5 jokers so far plus my initial 3. I have only spent 1 to grab the last major piece for my dindrenzi which will also give me another joker.

The goals for the last part of the year are rather easy to state but time consuming.

1.finish off the tau

2. paint the dindrenzi dread group

3. Paint the Aquan stuff

4. Paint the 2 Dropzone commander forces.

5. Paint the converted DE BFG fleet

That is about it for now just to give a bit more direction with my work.

I do have a few more projects I can work on.

1. more terrain ( a planet and buildings, bridges etc)

2. 2nd or 3rd edition Warzone forces (20+models)

3. Space marines(75 or so models)

4. Sisters of Sigmar Conversions

6MMRPC/ Painting Table #32 2015

A good week so far. Though tomorrow will probably be a dead day hobby wise. I finished off the 1 last drone, the 6 KOB frigates and the 6 Prussian frigates. Finally, an added bonus, I did the dog and the marshal from my texico starter set.

The dog was actually the hardest part of everything. He took about two hours with inking washing and dry brushing. The marshal and the rest went fast.

So that is 15 models, and a total of a massive 30 points. On top of that it is two more jokers for me bringing me to 6. For finishing off the two Dystopian Wars forces. They now have no remaining models. The tau are 9 models away from completion and the texico starter has 4 models left.

6MMRPC/ Painting Table #31 2015

This week was not to productive from a picture stand point. I got my Exploding kittens kickstarter and my mantis creations carrying cases as well. On top of that their was a lot of furniture being moved around this week and such. So what did I get done. 

Well I finished painting  these 13 drones. I also found one more drone while cleaning and organizing after moving all the furniture.  

This week I also did a matt coat on all of my FSA and BFG ships that have been painted. I also cleaned up primed and based all my DW ships.So 9 more suits and 1 drone are all that are left of my tau. This week I hope to finish off the ships and the last drone. After that I will probably move onto either more assembly or more hand priming since the weather is still crazy. As soon as the humidity and heat even out I should have a bunch of stuff ready to get done.

Anyway that is 13 more models done and 26 points.

Late mid year review

So lets go back over the goals for the year.

Goals
1. Paint all the tau stuff I have.
2. Paint the 2 merc forces I have
3. Paint 400 points
4. Build/paint at least 2 pieces of terrain.
5. Paint more than I buy again. preferably on the 2 to 1 scale
6. $350 or less in spending


So where are we in the grand scheme of things.
1. All but 13 drones and 9 suits done. After they are finished it will be all good for now. I may in the future add new things but I have no plans to.

2. The first Merc force is assembled and will hopefully be painted soon. The other shouldn't be to far behind.

3. I am currently at 335 points. Well on my way to the 400 point goal for the year.

4. This one is completely done. I have painted way more than 2 pieces of terrain this year. Just with the planets I did, never mind all the deadzone stuff.

5. So far the paint more than I buy is well ahead of the goal with  156 to 41.

6. I am once again over budget by $45 and change. This will hopefully be different in the future.

Now for the 6MMRPC stuff.
1. Tau, a bunch of firewarriors/pathfinders, some kroot and about 9 suits are left at this point
2. BFG Tau, should have the first 3 finished by end of month.
3. The 2 other earth shakers
4.The 2 Mercs starter sets, something like 14 models
5.The Aqua ships I have running around, I think 10 or so models
6. The dystopian war ships I found the other day, frigates for both fleets maybe 5 or 6 each.


1. As noted above this one is well on the way to being finished.
2. Already finished.
3. Finished though not painted.
4. As with part 2 in first part.
5. Not even looked at yet.
6. Cleaned up waiting for paint.

That already earned me 1 joker, I am not sure for the earthshakers since I mainly finished them since I had them. They are still available to a good home by the way just for the cost of shipping. The Epic Space Marines and Titan group are also still available.

6MMRPC/ Painting Table #30 2015

So a bit of progress since I returned from vacation. Below you will find. The last 2 phased ion suits built. 4 more 1x1 deadzone structures. Two more broadsides, 1 missile, 1 railgun and 2 drones. 5 bridges I made with Deadzone stuff. Finally, I finished painting that 1 scatter wall, 1 defensive wall, and the 2 doors for the buildings. The doors I am not counting as models since they go to the 2x1 buildings, so 2 more models and 4 more points.

I am going to be taking a break from painting terrain for now. I am going to paint up the 13 drones since I can do them all by hand. After that I think I will move on to the Dystopian Wars ships. The 9 suits will be on hold until the airbrush is back up and running in September. If I manage to finish this current painting before the airbrush is back up, then I think I will move on to painting either the texico stuff or maybe some other models I have running around.

6MMRPC/ Painting Table #29 2015

You may have noticed a lack of posts this week. There are 2 reasons for that, mainly the humidity at the moment which has killed a lot of my hobby time, the other part is I will be on vacation by the time you read this. So I wanted to maximize  my available hobby time with my prep work. Since at this point my airbrush is almost useless do to the temp/humidity.

So here is what I did. One big wall of pictures ahead. In short I got both towers assembled and one primed and the yellow done. I assembled one of the XV9 suits with phased ion guns. Primed some ruins, walls and such to paint up. Cleaned up the 12 remaining Dystopian wars frigates for my two factions. Assembled and cleaned up my Texico faction box for Mercs. Assembled some stripped Gun drones. Finaly I started painting some wall sections and doors for the 2x1 buildings already finished.

Not pictured but also done was the clean up of a bunch more deadzone stuff. Getting ready to assemble some bridges and maybe a few more smaller buildings. So you can look forward to more assembly pictures and maybe even painting next week. I am hopping to get more done soon since on the table now along with whats assembled is another 3 jokers.
