The purpose of this series is to walk you through the steps that I went through to create my 6mm Prussian army,
For me it began with seeing a friend of mine painting up some of his 28mm Napoleonic's from warlord games I think. He has two forces for Black powder. I went cool and then it just sat there in the back of my head. I started looking at models and rules from various companies. I had already settled on Black powder as the rule set since most people around her that I have met play it. With models I was immediately hit by the many options in scale and company wise.
After searching around for awhile, reading forums and then talking to that same friend I found out about Baccus. I went for 6mm even though no one here has it for two reasons. First I want a full force based off of a mostly historically based one. I say mostly historical because I am not basing the force off of a specific force at X battle. Second, I really wanted to be able to have the grand army view when playing. In 28mm its cost prohibitive to build said force and the space it would take would be enormous. In 6mm I can easily build 2 different forces that will take up half the space of a single 28mm and cost less than half as much.
After that I started readying to decide who I wanted to build. I had already decided I didn't want a French or British force because most people do them. I ended up picking Prussians after reading Napoleonic Armies: A wargamer's Campaign Directory 1805-1815 by Ray Johnson. After that I started tearing through the net trying to learn more and diving into my Osprey book collection.
I have easily spent 200+hrs researching these guys everything from army structure to uniform colors and names of units. While doing this I settled on 1812 as the period I wanted to focus on.
So things to consider if you want to do Napoleonic armies.
1. Rule set: there are many out there (some easily scale, some don't)
2. at the same time scale (6/10/15/28)
3. who you are going to play with and what they want to play as
4. More specific time period (this can alter your armies composition quite a lot)
5. $$$- ie how much time and money you want to spend on it.
Hope this helps other people if you need help let me know and I will try. I will start reviewing the osprey books I used in the coming months.

Osprey Reviews #1
The first book I looked at after Napoleonic Armies: A wargamer's Campaign Directory 1805-1815 was Osprey's Blucher's Army 1813-1815 from the Men at arms series.
Now even though this book focuses on 1813-1815 it includes a lot of background info thoughtout the book which is excellent for helping new people understand what happened up to that point. The book also covers the history of not only Blucher but others as well. The greatest resource in my opinion though games at the end of the book in the notes section. They give a great list of books that was used as references which gives you a nice place to start from for further reading.
Now in point notes here are some of the usefull things in the book:
-background info on 4 other major influences during that period
-explanations of how things were different under blucher for
-staff
-cavalry
-infantry
-artillery+pioneers
- page 24 has a great chart for the lance pennons for the ulhans and landwehr cavalry
-other points of interest are
-the wounded (how they were dealt with)
-music
-honours and awards
- there is also a great explanation of the order of battle for June 15 1815
-The plates, no Osprey book is complete without these and there are a good number of units covered in here
-staff
-hussars
-dragoons
-uhlang and staff
- line infantry
-landwehr cavalry
-landwehr infantry
- artillery
Overall, I would recommend this book if your looking for more details on how and when things change. However, there are better books for more details on the units themselves which we will cover in other reviews.

The differences
So what are the big differences between KOW and WAB. Well first off the lists for ancients are not official lists. They have been generated mainly by 1 individual with some feed back. What else is different you ask. Well much like HC you don't remove individual models you remove units. The key state for determining this is Nerve. Which effects how resistant they are to damage and their training and discipline. Units are also classified in 3 ways, routed, steady and wavering. Routed is running, steady is normal and wavering is in the middle. Banners and musicians effect nerve along with the unit size.
Optional rules in the book include building, siege warfare and multiplier games. I personally like the siege warfare rules but have never had a chance to try them. Now KOW historical really reminds me to HC though the rules aren't really designed for it. But seem like they would work well.
As a more direct comparison on one of the big differences (POINTS) I will give details below. These lists come direct from my Romans tab. For WAB you are looking at 2505 points with the models I have and no upgrades. The main special rules for many of the models are Drilled, Stubborn, Veteran for the veterans and the legionaries can do a testudo. Testudo only confers a 2+ armor save towards missile attacks. Note that the legionaries don't have heavy armor. One of the biggest benefits for the legionaries is that stubborn means that they don't need a panic test for fleeing units, they can give ground after failing a break test and if they would automatically break they can take a test first to see if it happens. Drilled is great because this allows them to always make some sort of move for free. The General also allows units within 12" to use his leadership for leadership tests.
Now with the KOW list clocks in at 1305 points. So if you like large games this maybe the system for you. You will be able to field a ton of models. This is part of the reason I am looking at this system especially for smaller scales. Now special rules wise the closest list I think is the Marian Roman Army the list would be as bellow. Some of the models aren't used because of inability to field enough models.
Regiment of Legionaries with musician and standard x5 = 750points
Regiment of Veteran Legionaries with musician and standard= 180 points
Regiment of Auxiliary Medium Infantry with musician and standard= 105points
Troop of Auxiliary Medium Infantry with musician and standard= 85 points
Troop of auxiliary archers with musician and standard= 75points
General= 100points
Total=1305
Now besides the obviously huge difference in points there are only two special rules really and they effect the legionaries. Pike phalanx and Testudo. Testudo for KOW makes it so if a unit is using it if they get charged on the rear or flanks it counts as charging the front. Pike phalanx confers +5 attacks for regiments and +10 for hordes after any multipliers for charging and such. It also makes cavalry in this case have a -1 to hit. A further difference is their are no upgrades besides musicians and standards to units. The exception being the general who can take a horse. The general also has the Inspiring special rule which effects any unit within 6'. This rule makes the nerve test be re-rolled.
Now having not had a chance to try this rule set because of local resistance towards non HC or WAB rule sets. I can only give general opinions. I think this rule set would be faster overall due to less special rules and options. I also think that the KOW historical lists would allow for much larger/faster games. This I like because I prefer using all my models its part of the reason I have so many. When playing WAB the games are often slow due to individual model removal and all the special rules and options.
Anyway check it out for yourself and see what you think. Link for historical lists for KOW is here.

Something from the past
About a year and a half ago GW closed their warhammer historicals part of the company. To me this was a blow because only about a year or so before I got into ancients. At the time Warhammer ancient battles 2.0 (WAB) was the standard for many people around her who played ancients. This post is mainly due to me being glued to the book the past few days while on the subway. Mainly because it has a lot of nice eye candy.
The main rule book was a hefty 215 full color pages. The basic book overall was great but it of course had its problems. It was full of pictures and illustrations and covered most aspects of the hobby. One of the great parts was that it included 13 different army lists. But it really shined with its 15 different supplements. That covered tons of forces from the 3rd century BC to the 13th century AD and siege rules. That being said there is still quite active forums and groups online for this product. The book heavily focuses on movement which of course is highly important in a game were a majority of the combat is HtH. For me the most annoying thing about this rule set was removing individual models. It really slows down the game in my opinion. The other downside is the book is really written for 28mm models. It requires a decent amount of work on the players parts if you want to play in another scale. Now personally I will keep the book and use it for smaller games when possible because it is quite easy to pick up and play with new people, in my opinion. But when you get above about 1000 points it just becomes to cumbersome.
Now the biggest problem these days is just getting your hands on the stuff. You can find it on the net to download but you might not find all the faqs. This is something that only in certain circles annoyed people when GW killed it off with no real warning. To be far they also killed off a few other games at that time as well. But you didn't get the same outcry as when they killed specialist games. To be far I didn't even know this part of GW existed until I got interested in ancients here in Korea.
This isn't as much of a problem now that things like HC have started realizing there own supplements. When I first started playing HC here with other people I used the supplement books and rule book from WAB as a base point. However, this is a game I wish I had learned about sooner along with necromonda and mordienhim. In the future I will be doing a comparison between this and HC and if I have the chance the KOW variant for ancients.

Painting update
A lot of progress has been made in the last few days and hopefully by Friday I will have completed models to show. The Romans are nearly done. I need to finish and glue on shields. As well as complete the arms and banners for the musician and standard.
I also started on all of my auxilia and archer auxilia. Mainly got primed and armor done though some are missing pieces I need to hunt down. I also got some work done on he general I thought I had finished and the squad leaders. So that's 47 more models being worked on.
Finally, I am also in the process of finishing up the Aqua prime fleet. In fact by the time this post goes up (24hrs after its written) they will probably be finished. So look forward to seeing them towards the end of the week.
So that is 81 models currently being worked on in total. Should help me get much closer to my goals. That is it for now. More later this week.

An amazing Napoleonic source book
For those of you interested this is the book that helped me figure out my starting point for my prussians. From their I went crazy investigating through other resources to reach my final decision. I spent time over a 6 month period figuring it all out. And this is where it all began.
Napoleonic Armies: A wargamer's Campaign Directory 1805-1815
by Ray Johnson
You can get it on amazon for about $30.
Now the book is broken up by country/kingdom. Of which it covers 27. Everything from France to Hesse Cassel. Which by the way I had never even heard of before reading this book. It starts at regiment levels and works it's way up depending on the country/kingdom. Now to be fair if your interested in France this book is fantastic because there are 40+ pages just on them.
The book gives a bit of detail about each countries history around 1805 and then launches into organization.
For Prussia this starts with 1806 and tells you what the Prussian army consisted of and tells you what is going on at that time. It then launches into the organization of the infantry with a nice little chart for an infantry regiment.
It then goes on to tell you exactly how each company was formed. By this I mean the number of men and what they did. For example a Prussian 1806 musketeer company was 12 officers, 3 musicians, 10 rifles and 130 men. The book also explains the different cavalry break ups and artillery. Include the size of guns and who they were assigned to. It then also explains what a typical division looked like in 1806 along with a nice chart. This is then followed by a sections that do it for 1808-1812, 1812,1813,1814 and 1815. In total it is about 9 1/2 pages of text. All of the other 26 countries follow a similar format.
Well I hope this post is useful to some people at least and if you have any questions drop me a line or a comment.

Plan for the next two weeks.
First I want to start by looking at the list for this past week.
1. Finish tau assembly, priming basing.
2. Base/paint DW brit bomber
3. Prime remaing romans
4. assemble and prime SM
5.Assemble and prime Epic SM
6. Assemble/ prime DZC
7. Prime 6mm Prussians
From this weeks list I have finished number 1 basically The tau I mentioned in my last post I wasn't even planing on finishing up originally until after I move. The last of the Romans have been primed and the SM have almost all been assembled. The last 3 goals I have made no progress on.
Now on to these next few weeks.
1. Prime all the SM and last couple of tau suits. (base coat if possible)
2. Base and paint DW Brit Bomber
3. Foam for all cases to properly store SM,TAU,FSA stuff.
4. strip epic titans and due last of repairs
5. Prime as much epic as possible
7. Get accurate list of current epic stuff (not even sure what I have anymore)
8. Assemble/prime DZC
9. Prime 6mm Prussians
10. Do blogs about the different 6mm Baccus Prussian models.
11. Securely pack all hobby stuff for the move.
12. Get list of all of my paints and paints I need.
13. end of month update posts
That is my plans for what I would ideally like to do. The chances on finishing it are slim but I will do as much as I can. Numbers 1,2,3,4 I should be able to do without to many problems. Everything after that is in the if I have time category.
That being said You will see a lot of posts over the next few weeks dealing with that and then the set up of my new hobby area. Number 12 is rather important because I need to figure out what paints to order in so I can actually paint my Prussians. For example, I am pretty sure I don't have the blue I need for them. Never mind I know that I need to restock on some paints like the green I am using for my tau.
That being said I also plan on posting some things to help with organizing painting areas and of course on how I am going to base the Prussians.
Until tomorrow,

Baccus Prussian stuff 2/?
Today I want to discuss how I am organizing my brigade. The 1812 Prussian Brigade follows the below chart. A lot of the information for this I was able to attain thanks to the help of some great guys on the Warlord Games forum and a book they recommend along with a few websites. I will talk about the book at another time in its own review.
I know I need to actually do it up on the computer at some point to make it easier to read, I will do that in the near future but for now I will break it down for you below.
The Brigade has 2 Infantry Regiments, 2 Heavy Cavalry Regiments, 1 Light Cavalry Regiment, 1 Foot Battery and 1 Horse Battery.
Each Infantry Regiment is made up of 3 Battalions and 2 companies of Grenadiers. There are 2 Musketeer Battalions of 4 companies each and 1 Fusilier Battalion of 4 companies. Each Company in game terms is a unit of 24 men including command.
The Heavy Cavalry regiments are both 4 Companies large and can be either Dragoons or Kurassiers In game terms they are 9 man units including command.
The Light Cavalry regiment is exactly the same as the Heavy Cavalry regiment except for 1 difference, The units were Hussars.
The Foot Battery and Horse Battery were identical in terms of cannons. But obviously the Horse Battery was more mobile. Each Battery consists of 8 cannons in game. In theory they should be 6 6lb cannons and 2 7lbs howitzers.
So in game terms this means I need the following:
16 musketeers Companies
8 Fusilier Companies
4 Grenadier Companies
8 Heavy Calvary Companies
4 Light Calvary Companies
16 cannons with crew and in theory limbers for the Horse battery
Now as you will notice from this list I am short on a few things. First I need a few more cannons (4), then I also need another 4 companies of fusiliers and 6 more companies of musketeers. I will remedy this in the future after I have already got the army going. On the other hand I also have a ton of extra cavalry but at the same time I am missing cavalry I need. I am short on Kurassiers/ Dragoons but have a ton of extra lancers and reserve cavalry. I will remedy this as well in the future and maybe trade off the extra stuff. I am not sure yet as I have yet to see if they will be of use in Black Powder.
On that note I would like to point out something important. I am not building this purely to game with. I am building this because I have always wanted to build an accurate Napoleonic time period army (actually I want two). The fact that I can play games with them just makes it better.
That all for now. Will start looking at the actual models in the next post.

Tau finished for now
As the tittle says I managed to finish priming and base coating all the currently assembled tau. I still have yet to assemble all the suits and kroot. Honestly the suit are waiting for me to sit down with the book and decide on weapon load outs. The kroot are waiting on me to decide color scheme and if I am going to even use them. I also have a small pile of spare drones I need to figure out what to do with.
Tonight I plan on getting started priming the last of the Romans I have. I should easily be able to finish this for Friday. After that there is nothing to do this week except more assembly. Unless I prime my epic 40k stuff. Haven't decided yet to be honest. But so far I am looking on target to finish most if not all of what I want to do before the move.
Another painting update on Friday. More Baccus posts this week and next week as well.
until then

Baccus 6mm Prussian stuff 1/?
I am going to do a series of posts on my stuff from Baccus. Do take a look at the website. Baccus has models that cover everything from ancients all the way to Sci fi. I am unsure how many posts but I will be doing a review of all the models I received along with whatever else comes up. To begin with I will lay out the combined models in my two orders and then the next post will be about how they break down into the force I am going to make with them.
First off after a lot of research I decided on doing a Prussian 1812 force. I started off by ordering in the Napoleonic Prussian Army pack 1806-1815. This force is huge. It includes the following.
10 units of foot (24 men each with command)
2 units of Kurassiers (9 men each with command)
2 units of Dragoons (9 men each with command)
4 units of Hussars (9 men each with command)
2 units of Lancers (9 men each with command)
2 units of Reserve Cavalry ( 9men each with command)
4 artillery pieces ( 4 crew each)
3 command strips
I followed this up with an order for 2 more artillery sets, a pack of grenadiers and a pack of fusiliers.
8 artillery pieces (4 crew each)
4 units of Grenadiers (24 men each with command)
4 units of Fusiliers (24 men each with command)
Between these two purchases it gives me more than I need to field a full 1812 Prussian Brigade. This was all done for around $65 + shipping. Baccus is also very open to adjusting the number of types of strips in their packs. By this I mean if you want more command and less troopers they can do that. I should also note that these do not come with bases. I purchased them separately because of the way I wish to base everything.
Now to be completely honest I did buy a set of banners out of curiosity but can't find them for the life of me. So I have omitted them until I due. I also did have a few problems with my initial order. I was missing some cannon wheels and command strips. But instead had extra trooper strips. Peter from Baccus was excellent (and very very patient) in helping me rectify this problem and was more than willing to send them out no charge. But since I had another order in the works I just had him put them together. And to quote him in an email to me about the help he had given me " As far as I am concerned you should get what you pay for and if you don't it's up to me to sort it out". This is a refreshing change from when I tried to get a failcast piece replaced and the message was fix it yourself.
Anyway more info and such on the models themselves and overall impression of the stuff.

Things done over the weekend
I finished assembling all the stealth suits, striped a batch of fire warriors/pathfinders and started priming. I primed half of a devilfish, the two broadsides and then started on the FSA Aqua forces. Then I ran out of paint. I have to go find my bigger bottle of primmer so that I can finish off priming everything I have built.
Over the next few days I plan on stripping the last of the firewarriors/pathfinders. Re assembling as many tau as possible and priming everything I can. My moving date has been moved up to the beginning of next month so I am rushing to get as much done as possible. The current list of goals is:
1. FSA aqua, primed and base coated
2. Tau primed and base coated
3. Prime, base coat and paint last DW Brit bomber
4. remaining Romans primed
5. Epic 40k Primed
6. Assemble more epic 40k
7. assemble and prime last of space marines
8. Start dropzone commander assembly and priming
9. Start priming 6mm Prussians
The only other goal I have for this month is ebaying off a bunch of extras/stuff I don't use. For example, I have a bunch of Pan O, 3 rhinos and an attack bike to get ride of.
Another update on Wed on what I have done.
Till then

the best laid plans
Just going to address the plan for the next 3 or so months. In about 2 months I will be moving. Not a long distance move but it will have a rather impact on me being able to use my airbrush. Therefor, for the next few weeks if not the next month a lot of my updates will be in the form of assembly and base coating with the exception of my FSA Aqua force which I need to do a bit more airbushing with. This also means that my rate of completing new models will fall quite a lot. This is where my epic project will help fill the void and why you have seen me basing so much of it but not painting even half as much. So my revised plan is:
1: base coat/layer some colors on my FSA Aqua force
2. Reassemble and base coat/prime my tau force.
3. assemble and base coat my remaining marines
4. Base coat my remaining Romans
5. Possibly base coat my epic sm
6. Finish striping tau and titans
7. If I have time assemble and base coat/prime my Dropzone commander stuff
8. Sell or trade of my mantic dwarves (just don't have space for the force), Infinity stuff(just never really got into it like i did other skirmish games), high elves (no space or interest), misc extra epic and extra space marine stuff (rhinos, attack bike etc.)
9. ????
Honestly if I get that much done in next two months I will be impressed. I hope to complete as much of that as possible and then really focus on my painting again. Speaking of that I have a question for you all because I am having a hard time deciding.
What is your favorite titan legion?
Anyone painting update most likely tomorrow. Comments welcome especially on the titan legion question.

Thoughts on upcoming GW stuff and update
Overall, I am not really excited. The rumors of a new apocalypse and models for it don't excite me in the slightest. This maybe because of my local playing environment and available play time. Here I usually see 1 big apocalypse weekend a year. The rest of the time you never see it. In fact even when they did planet fall and such I never saw any of the games played. As for play time I have spent whole days playing games before but it was usually multiple 2500 point games. Not one giant game. As for everyone having super heavies that's great but I am not going to drop the money on them when I will basically never use them. As it is the local scene seems to be dropping in points because people want more quick games. This is even scene by how popular a lot of other companies games have become here.
I know this is a bit contradiction when two of my current projects, epic sm chapter and Prussian 1812 army, are rather large. But they also take up almost no space. And both are fulfilling some long term goals I have had even if I never play them completely.
As for the books being available on more platforms. This I do like, since I am considering picking up the new marine codex when it comes out as a digital one, mainly due to space. Though I still thinking the prices will be a bit crazy.
Now their are no pictures for what I have been working on because I have basically been testing different paint strippers, though now I have pine sol, most of the tested cleaners just don't work. Even when left in them for a week. I have literally spent about 10hrs this week at night scrubbing my tau and some epic trying to get them ready to paint up. I dream of being able to buy simple green and just making my life much easier.
I should have a post either this weekend or on Monday with pictures of all the stuff I have assembled and hopefully some almost finished dindrenzi, if I can squeeze some painting time in this weekend. Either way normal painting posts and such will start up again next week.

Current and upcoming project list
I have a lot of projects going on at the moment and ones I have models for but need to get moving on. So here is a list in no particular order of importance.
1. 28mm warlord games Romans : this army is almost half done after my current project I am thinking I should finish this one off.
2. 40K tau: these I have been experimenting with for stripping. They really need a new paint job. But until I find a cost effective way to do this they are on the back burner.
3. 40k Space marines: this project I am about half done. I need to finalize my general list so I can get ride of my extra models (such as my 3 extra rhinos). But should be able to finish in the next few months.
4. Mantic Dwarf army: honestly I am going to just sell or trade these all away. I don't really want anymore 28mm armies and have never been huge into fantasy. Scifi and historical are my things.
5. DW Prussian force: is finished for now. I may add more models in the future but haven't thought about it at the moment.
5. DW Britannia force: Almost finished this one and its in the same boat as the Prussian force.
6.FSA Aqua prime fleet: this one I haven't started yet but would like to at least do up a test model in the next few months.
7. FSA dindrenzi fleet: This is currently on the bench and almost halfway done. May add more in the future but it is fine for now.
8. FSA terran fleet: this one needs another omni stand order and a fleet box before I really get started on it.
9. EA/Netepic space marines: this project I have a large amount of models ready to go, some painted, some need stripping and still need to acquire a few more things. Have I think around 8k-10k easily.
10. FOW british force: this I think I am going to just scrap. The more I read the rulebooks the more I feel that building a standard size list is just too expensive for me at the moment and that off shore artillery is just to broken.
11.BP 6mm Baccus Prussian 1808- This one I should have everything I need to complete. It will just be a mammoth undertaking due to the sheer number of little guys I need to paint. I also need to finish researching the uniform colours.
12.DZC Shaltari forces: this project is on the back burner till I can think of the proper paint scheme.
13. DZC PHR forces: Same as the shaltari, on the back burner till I can figure out the right paint scheme.
After all of this I have no idea what else may come up. Once I minus two of the projects from this list it still leaves me with 11 projects to complete. With most of them just needing me to paint them. This should also be more than enough to keep me busy this year into next year.
Anyway, till next time

Spending update
With the preview of my next project it is time to show you the cost. For those that couldn't or didn't want to guess the project I have been planning researching and buying since last October is going to be a 6mm Prussian 1808 army.
So here is the breakdown.
Baccus 6mm models: -$90.37
Paint: -$17.92
May:- $108.29
YTD Total: -$277.58
Suffice to say I need to sell some more stuff off because I have gone over my end limit for the year. On the bright side I should be able to build the complete army with leftover calvary and do officers as well. I plan on using BP rules though with the basing I am doing I should be able to use it for other systems as well. I am not sure yet how they will translate points wise into BP but am very interested to see. I will be posting a review of the Baccus minis and some personal opinion on things that happen throughout my dealings with the company.
More on this next week,

An interesting article
Today on one of my favorite blogs http://www.houseofpaincakes.com/ . They were talking about how with systems differentiate in the mentality of owning armies/factions. It is a great read and for myself very true. Living in South Korea you tend to see very few games. The most commonly played are usually 40k and fantasy, then either infinity or FOW. The honestly I have seen more FOW than infinity played. I know part of the reason is that here in South Korea miniature wargaming is still rather rare and the one store in South Korea carries a limited range of games, partly because of the size of the store I think. This is in no way a slam on this great store but it does limit the range of games people buy into. For example I only know of two epic players within an hour or so of me. Don't know of any FSA, DZC, DW and only one ACTASF player. So it can be a challenge to find opponents. But I have found that many people will try a new game if you have all the required models to play it. So next time you see a game you really want to play, I recommend taking the dive and getting two armies going or 1 larger one you can split equally.
That is all

How I paint Romans
This is a step by step tutorial on how I painted my romans. An important note I assemble the models without their shields. And in the case of banners and musicians without their arms. Small note most of the paints I used were the old Gw ones. Recently as I run out I have substituted Vallejo Game colour paints.
Step 1: Base coated with Black. I used Gw's Chaos Black
Step 2: Did the armor and weapons with Gw's chainmail.
Step 3: Clothing with Gw's Scab red
Step 4: Belt, scabbard, Javelin handle, Boots and base with Gw's Graveyard Earth.
Step 5: Skin Gw's elf flesh.
Step 6: wash skin, Javelin, base and boots with Gw's Gryphonne sepia
Step 7-1 : basecoat shields with Gw's Chaos Black
Step 7-2: Paint back of shield and front exposed wood with Gw's Graveyard earth
Step 7-3: do 2 coats of Gw's Blood red on shields
Step 7-4 Wash shields with Gw's Baal Red
Step 7-5: Shield edges and punch are done in Gw's Leadbelcher
Step 7-6: Musical Instruments are based with Gw's Chaos Black and then painted with Gw's Leadbelcher
Step 7-7:Banner shafts are done with Gw's Graveyard earth and the metal parts are done with Gw's Leadbelcher
Step 7-8: Paint skin and clothing on arms same as for models.
Step 8: assemble models
Step 9 Base

New stuff and more spending
Well first off my omni stand order showed up last night so I can now outfit all my firestorm armada and Dystopian wars stuff and still have enough left to outfit my DZC when I get to it. I admit they are a bit expensive but I think it will be well worth it in the long run.. So check them out.http://corseceng.com/omni-stand/
Then we also have my order from Warbases . I got 30, 60mm x 50mm mdf 2mm thick bases. This is for an upcoming project I haven't bought yet. But I am really looking forward to it. Their prices are fantastic and delivery was fast and reasonably priced, so check them out.http://www.warbases.co.uk/
I also picked up the new tau darkstrider and fireblade models.
So that makes Aprils spending:
April: -$53.75
bases: -$13.61
tau: -$41.36
April total: -$108.72
YTD: -$169.29
Till next time,

Wahoo progress
Below is the next unit of 20 romans that I have now completed, still need to figure out how I want to base all these guys though.
Next up I have the two rhinos/razorbacks I am currently working on.
So this brings my painting total up some more.
March: 20 points
YTD total: 96 points
Now I just need to figure out what to paint after the rhinos/razorbacks.
till then,

February spending YTD and Painting challenge YTD
Honestly, I am a little disappointed in my painting results but couldn't avoid a lot of the things that caused me not to finish my 20 man roman unit I have been working on. However, all in all it was still a good month.
On the YTD spending I spent nothing in february but also sold nothing. This I plan on changing this month. Probably by feebay. So the grand total for spending is as follows:
Jan: -$119.53
Feb: $0.00
YTD total: -$119.53
As for the paining challenge I did well but not as good as I would have liked. This was mainly due to the many holidays in the past month and people getting sick (me included). It was however, better than last month. This month did see the completion of the first two 20 man units of Romans the completion of 6 plasma cannon marines, 5 assault marines and 1 razorback/predator type tank (to be determined when I order the bits). So the YTD painting challenge is:
Jan: 20 points
Feb: 76 points
YTD total: 96 points
Left until goal: 204
On the table at the moment is the 20 man unit I have been working on and 2 rhino/razorback tanks. I will post later this week when I make a bit more progress on them.
Until then,
aruki
ps. I am still looking for some good 10mm blogs especially ancients/Napoleonic themed.
