Figured I would do a short write up of what I managed to finish during this challenge.
Let's start with a review of what I wanted to finish.
1. Tau, a bunch of firewarriors/pathfinders, some kroot and about 9 suits are left at this point
2. BFG Tau, should have the first 3 finished by end of month.
3. The 2 other earth shakers
4.The 2 Mercs starter sets, something like 14 models
5.The Aqua ships I have running around, I think 10 or so models
6. The dystopian war ships I found the other day, frigates for both fleets maybe 5 or 6 each.
I also wanted to do some terrain and such. So here is what I did finish.
1. I finished everything for the Tau.
2. Bfg tau and Bfg Dark Eldar were completed.
3. They were built but never painted since my overall gaming focus has changed.
4. I completed both of the Mercs starter sets.
5. I completed all the aqua and dindrenzi ships.
6. I completed all the Dystopian war ships.
7. I completed 5 of the 7 Nomad models from the infinity starter.
8. I completed a bunch of buildings and other terrain.
9. Completed both DZC starter sets
I think this is about everything. I may have missed some stuff here or there. I however completed all of the projects I set out to do. Along with a bunch of other stuff. I am happy with my overall work during this project.
I have joined up with GMG painting support group for next year.
Make sure you check out what everyone else has done on their blogs because there has been a ton of work done.

6MMRPC/ Painting Table #43 2015
Success.
Another project finished off. That is 18 more models done. Which also finished off my aqua force. Honestly I don't need more but something may take my fancy in the future.

As for the next project, I am honestly not sure. Honestly, I think the only things I have ready to go at the moment are space marines. I still have terrain and DZC to prime and paint as well. I would love to get the DZC done but I am not sure when I will have a chance to do the prime and base coat them. I may just get more assembly done until I have the chance. I do have some infinity that need to be assembled along with a few other projects running around.
I will do an update soon on what the plan is.

Dreadtober/ 6MMRPC/ Painting Table #42 2015
This week was very productive. I finished off the 3 razorback turrets, 2 two SRS tokens for the dindrenzi and all 3 dreads.
So that wraps up my Dindrenzi force until the far future when I can get some more frigates and cruisers. That also wraps up my Razorbacks/Rhinos and the 3 dreads for my talon. The next thing up will probably be the aqua ships i have ready to paint. After that no idea. The main thing I have left for this year is more terrain and such. I am already thinking of what will happen next year.

Dreadtober/ 6MMRPC/ Painting Table #41 2015
I didn't have the chance to post this yesterday so here it is today.
First up I finished off the dread and 3 other ships for my dindrenzi. So that's 4 more models and my dindrenzi done for now. I would like a few more frigates and cruisers in the long run but have no plans for picking them up at the moment.

On top of that between last week and this I magnetized the dreads, assembled and based/primed them. Along with my two magnetized razorback turrets and 1 heavy bolter turret. So the plan is to crank away at them the rest of the month. The 3 dreads will form a troop choice as a siege dread talon for my Space Marine Siege army list. So I am looking forward to getting them done since all my undead stuff are far from being ready to do anything with. The only other thing to finish off are the two tokens that came with the dread which I should be able to polish off in no time.
More as I get it done.

6MMRPC/ Painting Table #38 2015
The quick update for the week. I finished off the last two broadsides which completes the tau for now. Mainly I say for now because who knows what madness the new codex will bring and there is still a conversion I want to do at some point for fun.
I also primed all the DE BFG and assembled and primed 30 some odd guys for my warzone stuff.
Finally me and my oldest had are first game of the slim down rules of FSA. I barely beat him, he has the devils luck when it comes to rolling 6s in every game.
This was played on one of my new mats from a kickstarter I backed that showed up last week. Anyway two more models and 8 more points.
More as I get it done.

The current state of projects and goals.
At the moment I have two sets of goals. The ones for the year and the ones for the 6MMRPC. At the moment I have almost completed/meet both sets.
For the year I just need to finish tau and hopefully sell some stuff off to get back under budget.
For 6MMRPC I only need to finish 9 tau suits and the Aquan ships I have then I would have completed everything I wanted. I have also gained 5 jokers so far plus my initial 3. I have only spent 1 to grab the last major piece for my dindrenzi which will also give me another joker.
The goals for the last part of the year are rather easy to state but time consuming.
1.finish off the tau
2. paint the dindrenzi dread group
3. Paint the Aquan stuff
4. Paint the 2 Dropzone commander forces.
5. Paint the converted DE BFG fleet
That is about it for now just to give a bit more direction with my work.
I do have a few more projects I can work on.
1. more terrain ( a planet and buildings, bridges etc)
2. 2nd or 3rd edition Warzone forces (20+models)
3. Space marines(75 or so models)
4. Sisters of Sigmar Conversions
More as I get it done.

6MMRPC/ Painting Table #31 2015
This week was not to productive from a picture stand point. I got my Exploding kittens kickstarter and my mantis creations carrying cases as well. On top of that their was a lot of furniture being moved around this week and such. So what did I get done.
Well I finished painting these 13 drones. I also found one more drone while cleaning and organizing after moving all the furniture.
This week I also did a matt coat on all of my FSA and BFG ships that have been painted. I also cleaned up primed and based all my DW ships. So 9 more suits and 1 drone are all that are left of my tau. This week I hope to finish off the ships and the last drone. After that I will probably move onto either more assembly or more hand priming since the weather is still crazy. As soon as the humidity and heat even out I should have a bunch of stuff ready to get done.Anyway that is 13 more models done and 26 points.
More as I get it done.

6MMRPC/ Painting Table #26 2015
So another big update. First off, I gave the original orange planet a spray with the airbrush to brighten it a bit more before I sealed it so no points or anything for it since it was already counted as done.
But then I finished off two more bits of terrain. First off another planet. It comes out grey in the pic but it is actually a soft blue.
Then the first of the 2x1 buildings. From the deadzone stuff.
Overall, I am happy with the results of both projects. I am planning on finishing off the other 2x1 building and then probably building and painting the other tau suits so I can finish that project off.
So that is 2 more models, I am taking 3 points for the planet again and I am taking 6 for the building. This has also completed my terrain goal for the year.
Comments welcome.

6MMRPC/ Painting table #23 2015
It was a very busy week for me hobby wise. On top of the already finished models that you have seen I also wrapped up all the assembly of the 2 earth shakers, finished painting the 6 BFG tau ships, assembled and puttied two buildings and finally finished the assembly and protective coat of my asteroids for space games. The earth shakers will be seen in a later post. Today, the rest of it will be seen. So first off the work in progress stuff.
I still need to sand them down before base coating but I have 2 started which is good enough for me. By the way I love the vallejo plastic putty.
The asteroids are below and then the 6 ships.
So that is 6 more models finished and 12 more points. That also means I get a joker for finishing off a project.
Not sure what I will do after the buildings but they are the next thing to get painted up.
The Epic marines are still available by the way

Painting Table #17 2015
This is the final painting table before the start of the 6MMRPC. First off I plan on continuing work on the two last earthshakers and maybe also working on some pathfinders and firewarriors. Here is a pick of those firewarrios and pathfinders with the primer and base coat done also did a bit of orange detail work on 1 guy. No pictures of the earth shakers until the next tutorial post which should be in the next week or so depending on kids and work. Also sorry the pick is so bad couldn't get a good one to save my life today.
For jokers I have decided to do it by project. So the rest of the tau would be one. Same with my marines if I get to them. The rest of the bfg tau will be one, the rest of the aqua prime ships will also be one. Each merc squad will be one along with each of the infinity factions. All the dystopian wars would also count as one. That is like 9 more possible jokers. I may have more in the future but honestly I have no idea what I will do with the jokers in the first place.
Maybe at the end of the 6 months I will reward myself x amount for each joker I have. This maybe a nice way since I also blew the last of my budget on the infinity starter. There are still other starters I may want in the future mainly dropzone commander, Planet fall and dystopian legions. But I still haven't decided. Then again I also have my b-day and anniversary happening before the end of the challenge.
Bits wise the only thing I think I need to get is some more helion boards to convert into frigates and maybe a few more jetbikes for conversion into cruisers but that can wait.

Status of projects and more details for 6MMRPC
Right now as you can see from the last post I am working on finishing up the initial schemes and such on the custodian and protectors. After that I want to spend whatever free time I can assembling the other 2 earth shakers. Hopefully, I will finish the assembly of them before the 6MMRPC starts up on June 1st.
After that here is what remains of the other current priority projects with the models I currently have for them:
40k Tau
Xv9 fusion x3
Xv9 phased ion x3
Broadside x2
Xv9 leader suit x1 (named forgeworld model that escapes me at the moment)
firewarrior/pathfinder x57
Kroot shaper x2
Kroot x24
Drones x 20+/-
total=112 models
BFG Tau
Warden x 3
Castellan x 3
Total= 6
40k Marines
tactical/sternguard x 49
dreadnought x3
terminators x19
heavy weapons x 4
total= 75
FSA Aqua
14 random ships (escorts, dread and 2 other types)
Dystopian Wars
frigates x 12
Mercs
texico/iss starters x13
So yeah a lot of work to do. Somewhere around 230 models to do. This doesnt count other possible projects I have running around like deadzone stuff or the scratch built BFG fleets I want to do.
Anyway more as soon as I can get it done.

Plan for the 6MMRPC
The plan is rather simple. Basically doing what I wanted to do anyway and the goals line up pretty well. Not sure how I will handle the jokers since I am more budget orientated.
The projects I want to complete this year are the following:
The omg project if I somehow manage the others is my Space marines. I technicaly have zombies somewhere, I think... I have also decided to change up my terrain idea. Mainly because while working on getting the Mantic stuff fully assembled they have just aggravated me to no end. Especially the fortified bits. Not sure if I will get rid of them but I will definitely be changing my approach. More on that at a later date.
I have also found a method on the net for how I think I will deal with the whole playing surfaces issue. That will also be covered at a later date. At the moment this is a basic list of stuff. I will do a more detailed one before the 6MMRPC officially starts up on June 1st.
More as I figure it out and previews of what I have been working on tomorrow.

Reveal of terrain project and more completed models
So first off I finished off 3 of the 9 sniper drones.
Then I also completed my terrain project. Which is actually a small/medium sized planet to use in firestorm armada/xwing/etc.
It's grey primer with some orange fire painted randomly on top. Then a bit of red ink spread about. Finally leviathen purple wash or whatever gw used to do blotted on top with some paper towel.
I'm going to go with 3 points for the planet and of course the 2 for each drone. So that is 9 more points 3 models and 1 piece of terrain finished off.
More as I get it done. I am thinking green or blue for the next planet. I have 1 more of that size and 1 much larger one waiting to be done.

The first update of the year
That's right I have made progress this week. I finished off two models.
The first is the concept model I did for my counts as DKK Engineer/warzone model.
The other model was my Manta battle carrier.
Now points are a bit strange to work out. Mainly because the scale for FSA is 1:10000. Which doesn't really correspond well from what I can tell with the hole 28mm 15mm blah blah. So I have decided to count the ships as 15mm mounted or vehicles. The big one such as the battle carrier will be a vehicle the smaller ones will be mounted. This is mainly due to it not really fitting into the 28mm group.
So that is 2pts for my first guy and 6pts for the battle carrier.
I also spent a chunk of money on some more battlezone stuff. So that's $34.02 for this month so far.
Two nice and easy models. Big update tomorrow with a lot of WIP.
Don't forget to enter the contest there is only a couple of weeks left. Find it here.

Review: T.J.H. Models asteroids
So awhile ago I backed this kickstarter. Here are what they look like.

They are good quality rock and I love the color. I do wish they were a bit bigger but not the end of the wold. They will work well for x wing, not sure how well they will work for FSA. They may actually be just the write size to give a bit of scale to the ships. I will figure it out when I get around to doing new group pics of stuff. Delivery was cheap and fast, the only down size I have found is I need to varnish them. But as different people have different tastes when it comes to this it was a smart idea. The stands are normal fare and the places to glue them in are solidly glued. Overall I am quite satisfied with this purchase and wish I had gotten more.

A late update but for a good reason.
Why is it late, well a few reasons. I have been busy doing actual modeling stuff and I have been doing a lot of research for further posts on the whole Mantic thing. So first up the 6 finished stealth suits.
Following that I started assembly of the next two Heavy carriage Earth shakers.
So that's 6 points to august etc etc. I also spent $10 and picked up a Manta battle carrier for FSA. So that's minus $10 on that.
I also finished assembling the first counts as earth shaker on heavy carriage. It's not perfect but I learned a lot about using green stuff and assembling in general. Not bad for my first scratch built model I think.

Finally I started to teach the oldest how to paint, specifically base coating. Tomorrow he will prime his own orc and then we will move on to the next step. He is now 4 1/2, I have also started working on remembering and writing ABCs and such using his Battle tech manuals.
More as I can and hopefully another comparison post on Wednesday.
